One of the first collections I started was Clive Cussler and have been reading his books for a few years. I started to collect his signed first editions and originally wanted just the Dirk Pitt series but then the bug started. I have every book he has put out as a signed first edition except one, Mediteranean Caper. I have the original signed paperback and an unsigned copy of the first hardback but waiting to arrange for it to be signed.Originally he only put this book out in paperback but later on put it out in hardcover and then an omnibus version.
I collect photos and a lot of memoribilia from his books. I have a NUMA denim jacket which is a beauty and was purchased through the Cussler Society. I have a cupboard fiull of pages, photos , pens DVDs and other items of assorted items. My best item in my collection is my signed page of the manuscript of Valhalla Rising, see photo.Cussler has a huge following particularly in the US. There are 2 main clubs being www.cusslersociety.com and www.cusslermen.com and then his own sites www.clive-cussler-books.com and www.clivecusslerbooks.com .
He has conventions every year in America which are great I believe where Clive and a number of authors go to it and sign books and participate with other members and collectors. I intend to go over the next couple of years when retired. The Cussler society has its own site for members only to talk and catch up.
Most of my books for this collection have been through www.VJbooks.com which specialise in Cussler books.
