Ena Harrison - don't know much about her but she obviously spent a long time with the Abroiginies. I was drawn to her painting son wooden plates by her sensative portriats. Each plate is hand painted although she appears to have produced multiples of the same image. Her work obvioulsy reflects her times with some of the portraits showing aboriginies "Westernised" in both appearance and features. Other portratits appear to be to be more realistic and make no attempt at compromise. Don't know if this shows a progression in her work (as none of the plates are dated) or just shows she was market savvy and produced the Westernised ones to feed the tourist market! Anyway - if you know anything about the artist or the people whe painted please let me know..
