I've picked up a set of 5 Stem chairs plus matching Aristoc table - I'd love tocomplete the set. Any ideas where I might find an extra chair?

[jane.bourke@unimelb.   04/06/2011]
A. Well done. Good Stems are hard to find - the base often cracks as the plastic seems to get brittle with age. I've only managed to get 2 so far! Let me know if you come across some more and want to keep one and sell the others on!

Hi, Any advice for a first time buyer? I have a house full of 1950s - 1960s furniture collected mostly thru countless visits to op shops and garage sales.  My house is nearly perfectly furnished except for the fact that I would love to have a featherston chair.  I'm in Queensland so have been putting off purchasing as buying without viewing in person is a bit scary.  My dream chair is an Eleanor but would be happy with any of the tv chairs. Thanks

A. Hi - I am still after an Elanor as well - the only one I know on the market at the moment is $14k - ouch - although it does come with a foot stool! I have bought a few over the internet - so far no problems - just ask for a detailed condition report before you purchase - and pictures of the legs etc.. Keep looking and good luck!

A. Thanks Julie - I have added the Featherston model number to the description.

Q. Have any of these chairs been recovered? What do you think recovering does to the value?
[nicathome   19/04/2008]
A. Hi - some have unfortunately been recovered over the years - some in shocking fabric! Purists want the original thing but finding ones that have lasted 60 years or more is getting harder...

Q. Can anyone recommend any other sites with Featherston content?
