I began collecting toy motorcycles in 2000, as a natural extension of my involvement in a bikers' club, concentrating on contemporary diecast models of the kinds of bikes our members rode (cruisers).
It didn't take long before I discovered older bikes, such as Matchbox MOY and Dinky. Then the floodgates opened!
I now have a collection of aproximately 3,000 vintage and collectible toy motorbikes, with the emphasis on models produced from the 1920s to 1970s. They come in all shapes and sizes, and made from all manner of materials - tin, cast iron, lead, various alloys, plastic, silver, rubber, etc.
They are mostly sourced from the USA, Europe, UK and South America.
I have many on display, but a lot of the items in my collection remain stowed away in their original boxes.
Speaking of which, I am now keen to sell on a swag of my originally purchased, less 'old' diecasts (all mint in mint boxes), so anyone who is interested, drop me a note!
I also have a good collection of original old motorcycle-themed photos, magazines, cinema posters, lobby photos, badges, plus several special interest sub-collections (e.g. CHiPs, Fonzie in Happy Days and all the Ken an Barbie Harley dolls and their Harleys).
