I have been surfing since I was a kid in the early 60s. Fortunately, instead of selling or trading in some of my old surfboards, I stored them in the garage and forgot about them. After re-discovering them about 10 years ago I am now an avid collector of old surfboards ranging from the late 1950s, the whole 60s and 70s, and even the early 80s. I will gladly come and look at any old surfboard regardless of it's age, make or condition. I worked in surfboard factories during my high school days and well into my 20's so I can pretty much restore a surfboard in any condition. The thing is to keep them as original as possible as the Heritage aspect of the surfboards is the priority. The design development of surfboards from the huge, heavy and bulky planks of the 1950s, through to the ultra light, space age and fine tuned surfboards of today......is captured in these old surfboards that we collect and restore. Some of them are considered as "riders" and are in fact used again in the surf. But we mostly just collect, store and cherish them. I also collect old skateboards, surfing trophies, surfing books & magazines, and any surfing or beach related memorabilia or ephemera. My name is Larry and I can be contacted on my mobile at any time on 0422 230654. So, check your garages, sheds, roof spaces, lofts, under floors, the backyard, etc, etc, and dig out those old surfboards. They may be worth some cash to you. Don't let them end up on the council cleanup pile as they will either be destroyed and lost forever, or misused by someone unaware of their value and importance to the heritage of the sport of surfing. Aloha from Larry.
