I began collecting scalextric V8 supercars after finding my first slot car set on trademe (nz's ebay).  I had always wanted a slotcar set and, like most ascalextric enthusiasts, had to wait until I was in my thirties to afford it.

The set came with 2 v8 supercars; a Murph commodore and a Lowndes Falcon. Scalextric only relese 1500 of each v8 supercar and they are sold predominantly in Australia and new Zealand.  So far they have released 25 cars over the last 6 years.

The models are relatively basic. i mean, you can get far more detailed slotcars. However the v8's posess the same brute charm of the real thing.  they are fast and sloippy and like to spin their wheels.  Since my collections beginning, io have built myself a large layout nicknamed 'pageyhurst' and managed to get almost 2 full sets of v8's. one to race one to store.
