I am a collector of diecast metal Thomas the Tank Engine characters which were produced from 1984 until 2004 by ERTL. They are no longer made and have been replaced by less detailed and more toy like counterparts. I began collecting these about five years ago when I realised my son had outgrown his small collection and I realised they were far too good to give away. I now actively search the web for the hard to get stuff. Although I have all the characters in the series, there are some limited releases which I'm still chasing and I am now endeavouring to collect the entire series in unopened packs.
